What kind of music do you play?
70s/80s rock/metal, funk, church music
How long have you been playing?
Started in 1988, played for 6 years, then followed by a 7-year hiatus (due to marriage/work/kids) ...picked it up again in 2005 to help out at church (but also playing a lot for personal enjoyment)
What other instruments do you play?
bass guitar, piano
Favorite Musicians

Guitarists: Satriani, Hendrix, Vai, EVH, SRV, Brian May, Zakk Wylde...like everyone else. Other faves are Deron Miller, Pete Townshend, Buck Dharma and Peter Frampton

Musicians/Bands: Van Morrison, Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd, Megadeth, Metallica, Van Halen (pre-Sammy...despite liking Sammy personally), Chris Tomlin, Delirious?, CKY, Blue Öyster Cult, Rage Against The Machine, Green Day, Devo, James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot and a bunch of others

When did you get your ToneLab?
December 2005
Guitar(s)

Carvin GK1 bolt-kit with mahogany body, fixed bridge, C22B/TBH60/TBH60 pickups (with coil-splitter upgrades on the pots.)

I also own:

- SX SST57 Vintage (Heavily-modified): Upgraded trem to US vintage w/steel sustain block. Installed hand-shielded 5.5K single-coils and GFS Loudmouth pickup in an HSS config. Upgraded tuners to Wilkinson locking, upgraded pots+cap and added full cavity/pickguard shielding.

- Johnson JG-650-T (thinbody cutaway acoustic w/active Fishman electronics). Pretty decent guitar (with a little setup work), despite its low price. This one was purchased largely due to the crappy nature of the TLSE acoustic simulator

- SX short-scale Jazz Bass copy (Fender doesn't make a short-scale J-bass, so I found this little gem/oddity at Rondo Music (http://www.rondomusic.net). Nice, very inexpensive bass for a "bass-as-a-third-instrument" instrument.

Pre Effects (before the ToneLab in your chain)

Booster pedal based upon Jack Orman's 'MOSFET Booster' design

Insert Effects (used with the insert on your ToneLab)

- Behringer Composer Pro MDX2200 (rack compressor/gate)

- Monte Allums BOSS MT-2

- Monte Allums BOSS DS-1 (DS1 mod)

- Monte Allums BOSS DS-1 (Rectifier mod)

- Monte Allums BOSS SD-1 (GT mod)

Post Effects (after the ToneLab in your chain)

- Nady GEQ215 - 1U rack, dual-channel (15 bands per channel) equalizer

- Behringer V-Verb PRO REV2496, 24-bit/96KHz reverb and mod effects processor
