Hi guys,
I would like to ask all of you a favor. We have an event this Friday to raise money for children's cancer research; a bunch of us will be shaving our heads and we need sponsors. I am participating in the event and I am also the MC. I am not asking for your money, I need something much bigger, your prayers. Pray for the participants, supporters and most of all the children that so desperately need our help. If you are in the Denver area stop by, it should be a blast. Some NFL players and NFL alumni will be there; a few will be participating. You can get the details at:

Thanks,
Murph

God is good! It was
Mon, 2007/03/19 - 8:22am — bar-diveGod is good! It was amazing; much more than we ever imagined. The turnout was tremendous and we raised much more money than anticipated. We don’t have the final numbers yet but we blew away our goal of $25,000. We know we are over $40,000 and we will likely end up somewhere between 45 and 50k. The NFL guys were great and helped bring a little more fun to the event; “see a grown man get his chest waxed” can now be crossed off my list of things to see before I die.
Thank you all for your prayers.

I just wanted to add one
Mon, 2007/03/19 - 8:38am — bar-diveI just wanted to add one more prayer request on to this. At the St. Baldrick’s event Sean Tufts of the Carolina Panthers got his head shaved. Before going under the clippers Sean spoke about how much of an impact cancer has had on his life; Sean said that he was thinking of his father who was unable to attend the event because he was going through chemotherapy at the same time as the event. If you could please pray for Mr. Tufts and his family I would appreciate it.
Thanks again.

Murph, great reading... may
Mon, 2007/03/19 - 6:22pm — humblepieMurph, great reading... may God richly bless you for all your efforts! No greater gift than one can give than to lay down one's life (and or hair) for one's friend. That spirit is what stores up treasures beyond my friend.... mark (hp)
I'm glad to hear it went
Fri, 2007/03/23 - 8:33pm — GuilloteI'm glad to hear it went well man. That's a noble cause.
If cancer research is something you think you can give a hand to, maybe you should check this site: www.collective.rocks.it
Along with other musicians and other artists, we have formed a little internet community that is set to make a difference. A first project proved to be a succes, and included a cd (sold through the internet) with a bunch of original guitar tracks. The money we gathered went to the Jason Becker foundation.
This time, we are shooting higher. A DVD has been made by these folks' hard work, which includes hours of original music from artists all over the world, plus video and art. All money collected goes to CRUK, Cancer Research UK. We have been validated at their site as proof that we are legit. Check the site, and if any of you guys feel like helping, be it by buying a DVD, supplying music/video for our growing YouTube adn Soundclick groups, or ideas on how to reach even more and make a bigger difference through future proyects, then it will be most appreciated.
Just check the site, and go to the forums with any questions. It's a community based on the belief that no difference is too little and no effort too small if it's meant for good.
And, of course, let me pitch the DVD again... you'll be helping cancer research AND supporting independent music. No profit is made by anyone, it all goes directly to CRUK.
