Hello everybody,
I just received a used ToneLab SE purchased from eBay and I am little upset. The unit is working fine, but when I want to change the patch is taking like 2 to 5 seconds for sound to come up. Sometimes is changing fast like it should be, but mostly is taking a long time for the sound to come up and it's fading in (like I open the guitar volume). Is it common for ToneLab SE to be so slow changing patches? I have to mention that I changed the tube, but the poblem wasn't resolved. Thank you and I am waiting for some ideas.

Hi Adrian Welcome to the

Welcome to the forum.
You'll find some good information here.
I would suggest that you do a word search here and see if there are any other postings relating to your problem.
2nd.. if possible, see if you can go to a music store that sells new Tonelabs to compare. I would agree with you, 5 seconds is too long for the patch to boot up.
Unless... the previous owner went nuts and programmed alot of effects that would cause it to slow down. I have downloaded a fair amount of patches, moved them around and have not experienced what you are.
As long as its working, you may want to down load the Tonelab SE sound editor, save your existing patches. Then reboot and start all over with the factory presets. Then you will have saved your patches and you can double check to see if its a programming issue. Having owned mine for a while, along with various synths, usually when something goes down... its goes down all the way!
Hope this helps and let us know what you find out.

Welcome from me too !!
It's good advice from Steve. Your TLSE certainly should change patches (almost) instantaneously. I think a reboot back to factory settings has the best chance of hopefully quickly solving the problem. That would be a nice Christmas present, wouldn't it ! Let us know how you get on.

I forgot to say that I already restored to factory presets beside changing the tube. I think the unit is defective and I intend to send it in Montreal for repairs at a canadian Vox dealer. I mention one more time that everything else is working fine.
Thank you
