OK Guys…
I took my crappy digi cam to church with me today, and took pics of my setup.
They can be found here: http://www.unleavened.net/church.mht
OK…so from the top:
1. My guitar… a 2001 Nashville deluxe power tele
2. my TLSE
3. everything… which includes my guitar..my TLSE… my Crate Palomino V-32 tube amp. Right of that is my isolation cabinete with my submixer on top of it, and my JBL 15” powered monitor used for monitoring the guitar only. I use in-ears for the rest
4. My home built isolation cab, shown here with the top off so you can see what’s inside.
5. My iso cab’s speaker input and mic output.
6. My Jbl monitor
7. another angle of everything
So, chain looks like this guitar->TLSE->pwr amp input of the Palomino class a tube amp
->iso cab->SM57->submixer-> one output goes to my JBL monitor, other side goes to main mixing desk. I use the iso cab so I can crank the tube amp and get the sweet pwr amp tube distortion without having big big stage volume…it works really great. By itself, the iso cab sounds like a TV set!!
Peace!

Shawn, I think I've got it.
Mon, 2006/11/06 - 1:07am — hamfistShawn, I think I've got it. I assume you don't use the speaker in your Crate combo at all. You just output your power amp into the speaker in the isolation cab, right ?!
Its a nice setup, but a lot of gear. I assume that's a pretty permanent setup at your church, so you can leave the iso cab there.
My church meets in a school hall, so we have to set up the PA from scratch, and pack down of course, every week. We are pretty quick at it, but it's a lot of work. I'd love us to have our own building where we could have a permanent set-up.

You are correct Alan, I do
Mon, 2006/11/06 - 8:16am — eyema_believerYou are correct Alan, I do not use the speaker in the combo at all.
But, we meet in the school hall as well. We have a huge trailer with 15 refrigerator sized rolling road cases where all the gear lives during the week, however I only leave the isolation cab there and bring the rest home for practice and tweaking. We have the whole process down to a science, although it comes down a lot faster than it goes up. We have about 200 people so we have a lot of help.
Peace!

Very cool setup Shawn. Why
Mon, 2006/11/06 - 5:12pm — tbyrdVery cool setup Shawn. Why do you use a stage monitor for your guitar instead of ear buds? (I think I know the answer)What type of speaker is in the Iso Cab?
Nice pictures and set -up,
Mon, 2006/11/06 - 5:44pm — hotramanNice pictures and set -up, Shawn.
I really like my Nashville Tele. I swapped out the bridge P/U for a Seymour Duncan Little '59 & a Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro.
What are your fav TLSE patches that work with your Telecaster?
Steve
PS... I did the Sunday morning set up for 4 years as well. Its a different gig in itself. The power of prayer was happening, some of those times when we had PA issues!

tbyrd, I use the floor
Mon, 2006/11/06 - 7:15pm — eyema_believertbyrd,
I use the floor monitor mostly because I share an earbud channel with either the drummer or the backup vocalist. We only have 2 different mixes, and I just want to be sure I have enough guitar without ruining their mix. I always run with just one earbud in. The speaker I used in the box is a celestion which came out of some line6 combo amp and I bought off of eaby for thirty bucks no shipping. I think the birch plywood cost $40, and maybe another 20-30 in hardware and paint. It works really good and is solid as a tank.
Steve....I love my Tele...I get a lil mad at the neck when the seasons change...seems to come out of adjustment kinda easy...but other than that it's super sweet. Mine has the piezo pickups in the bridge to simulate an acoustic if I wanna. Right now I'm using only 2 patches on the TLSE, and those are my own. One uses the AC30TB, and the other uses the 68 plexi model. These are my meat and potatoes patches. If you like, I will install the editing software sometime soon and put them up so you can try them.
Peace!
