So here goes, a new thread on your most recent worship songlist. Here's our latest from last week at Grace Chapel in Wilsonville, Oregon:
Love the Lord (Lincoln Brewster)
Holy is the Lord (Chris Tomlin)
Not to Us (Chris Tomlin)
Everlasting God (Chris Tomlin)
You Never Let Go (Matt Redman)
Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus (traditional)
Rescue (Desperation Band)
Opening song "Rock of Ages" (paul and rita baloche)
Worship set
1. "Friend of God" (israel houghton)
2. "Let my words be few" (phillips craig and dean)
3. "Eagles wings/here I am waiting" (ruben morgan/hillsongs)
4. "God of Wonders" (city on a hill)
Broc... great idea!!
Our song set was the following:
Your Grace is Enough ( Tomlin)
We are Hungry
Holy, Holy, Holy, ( hymn with new rythmn)
Enough ( Tomlin)
Amazed ( Jared Anderson)
Only You ( Crowder)
How Deep the Father's Love for Us ( Stuart Townend)
Jothro e-mailed me about this thread.
This is huge for me!
I see lots of Chris Tomlin so far....I love doing his songs because my vocal range is like his! Unfortunately I end up transposing down a step or more so I won't end up singing by myself! Would not be good at all....
Oh....and I love the Crowder song "Only You".....wow....what a song!! That band really rocks. I've seen them I think 4 times in concert...go see them if they come close.
More Than Enough (Kurt Carr}
Lord You Are Good (Israel)
Draw Me Close To You (Vineyard)
Amazed (Lincoln Brewster)
Enemys Camp (Lindell Cooley)
Falling In Love With Jesus (?)
Its interesting, and not really surprising, that we are using a fairly different set of artist's songs over here in the UK. Obviously there are some similar ones. Here's a list of ones I do regularly.
Your Blood (Matt Redman)
What a friend I've Found (Delirious)
Shout All the Earth (Holy, Holy) (?)
I Will Worship (David Ruis)
Here I am to Worship (Tim Hughes)
Blessed be Your Name (Matt Redman)
How Lovely is Your Dwelling place (Matt redman)
Praise Awaits You (Matt Redman)
Nothing but the Blood (Matt Redman)
Over All the Earth (Brenton Brown)
You are the Sovereign I am (Brian Doerksen)
The Splendour of the King (Chris Tomlin)
Light of the World (Tim Hughes)
Come now is the Time to Worship (Brian Doerksen)
Dancing Generation (Delirious)
We use a lot of those same songs! Actually, I personally use about half of those you listed in a heavy rotation. Here's what I think. I talk to some guys who come through my church who travel the world. It seems that the modern worship sound is a world-wide thing! Worship music is transcending all kinds of ethnic and social boundaries. Now, when you consider the fact that when the average person leaves a worship service and can remember nothing of the message from the preaching but can sing songs that were sung...then you understand the role that this music is playing in our "culture", and how important it can be. I am so happy to be a part of what God is doing on the planet! To me, it's like a dream come true!!
Praise Him!
