The thing is Kickin' my #&@!

If you own a TLSE and you've mastered the tweak skills, you should be in amazement as to how great the TSLE really is! I've had mine for 2 months (previosly custom boards, Peavy's Tubefex, AX1000g, Ax1500g, Marshalls, Fender, Boogies,)and I'm finally starting to realize how flexibly cool it is. It all lies in the tweaking, knowledge of what the original amps sound like, and translating that sound through your personal set-up. Once you've passed that learning curve, you will grin ear to ear every time you play your guitar.

The TLSE has got MUCHO MOJO!!

Enjoy! smile

well hey !!! there are guys

well hey !!! there are guys always looking for good patches here... Maybe you could share them here. I keep a database(zip file)of all the .TLP's here, on my site (not up at this time but keep trying) I am also going through all the Amps and Cabs with no effects and making a Drive/Clean (A,B) channels for them. At this time I have only half of them and what I did was set the clean channal to "AS LOUD and NOISE FREE" as possible and the Drive to "AS DISTORTED and Noiseless" while trying to match the volume of the clean channel. I have not done the tweeking of each patch yet but it sounds good the few I did do, I will upload the patch(s) when done, mind you this is the WHOLE TLSE Bank 1-1 through 24-4 I got the first 8 amps on one with a few others to "fill in" the void. but in just doing the settings I set all the CLEANS to the SAME levels as with the DRIVE (crunch, distortion, gain, whatever you prefer) the startin point for the CLEANS are set something like this....

Gain / VRgain / Treble / Middle / Bass / Presencs / CH Vol
---2.8-------10--------10--------10---------10--------10--------10

now I notice that some amps get more noise as with the cabs to, but I will leave each different amp the same setting but tweek the others as slight as possible if needed, some even though they are set that way may have noise but the tone really rocks so I might leave a little noise in as it seems like it may be a character of that type of amp sound.
and for the Drive channel I started off with this setting on all and will tweek later

Gain / VRgain / Treble / Middle / Bass / Presencs / CH Vol
----10------10--------5------------0---------5---------10--------match clean CH

some of these are not to great but I will tweek them to sound as good as I can, some are good though. the cab Tweed 1x12 is the noisiest character in the bunch but I have heard this noise in songs before. so all said what this will be is 2 .TLP files, one having the first 8 amps with all the cab combinations and the 2nd having the last 8 amps, everything else is OFF except the Volume pedal. after I finish this I am going to work on the "PEDAL" patch the progress to MOD,DELAY,REVERB,EXPRESSION patch, this should give me a good understanding of what the TLSE can really sound like.

Not too much time on hand for downloading (have to get cable). Hopefully soon! Glad to read that your tweak loco too! Good luck to you and your tone journey.

ok well I'v decided to

ok well I'v decided to change those settings so there is room for a little MORE if you will. so the patches will look more like this for CLEAN channels...

Gain / VRgain / Treble / Middle / Bass / Presencs / CH Vol
--.5/3-------9---------9---------9----------9---------9---------9

Distortion channels to match volume of clean channels are

Gain / VRgain / Treble / Middle / Bass / Presencs / CH Vol
----9-------9--------7.5----------0---------5---------9---------match clean about 4/6.5

I'm almost done getting all of them together and really learning alot on what the TLSE can sound like, I keep thinking why didn't Vox do this for all of us TLSE users. I cannot beleive the tones I am hearing... I test each one and one a quite a few its like, MAN ! that is the tone for this song... ,. now of course I'm using my custom Fender Squire bullet with a Seymour Duncan in bridge so it may sound different on others I'm sure as the 5 way switch gives me a wide variety of tone.
I will put these on my site on the Tonelab page when I'm done. I really think alot of you will like it when you try it. as for downloading the TLSE patch with DIAL-UP it should not take but a minute to download, TLP's are very small files.

I still getting my %*#

I still getting my %*# kicked by this thing! cheesey grin

Even with the two fuctional setbacks I've experienced, The TLSE has proved to be the best sound investment. applause

If your tweaking it right, you should be in possesion of some of the grooviest tones that have ever assaulted your ears. Switching from patch to patch inspires me to play as many different styles as my skills can come up with. tongue

I'm HAPPY!

I've litteraly blown my ears

I've litteraly blown my ears out listening to the tones the TLSE can deliver. In just those amp/cab tones I have made, you can go for hours getting stuck on some of them, and then to and just one effect!, what more do you want... go buy your PODS and GT's, I really feel no need for another unit, especially another 400 dollar one.
I havent tweaked this hard since I was doing the other tweeksing years ago. if your going to tweak you really should get my AMPS/CABS files from my site... I think I posted them here as well somewhere.
anyway Chico.. I know how you feel, I have to lay off the volume for awhile though to recover from the ringing..lol.

I'll tell you guys

I'll tell you guys something...I was trying stuff last night, and it is just so unlimited what you can do with this thing. I was using the preamp in my Palomino V-32 in the effects loop of the tone lab. I tried using different amp models in conjuction with the preamp in my amp....tons of tones!! Even funnier...I think the tube amp models in the TLSE sound more tubey than my tube amps pre....wow!

Peace!

That comment "sound more

That comment "sound more tubey than my tube amps" is what made me go TLSE, the first time I heard it I thought the guy was playing a tube amp.. then he was changing patches and I new that Marshall wasn't making those tones.. so I had to peak... I asked him if he used it for recording which he had, and then I noticed he also had an Earvana nut on his Strat,

What a journey it’s been

What a journey it’s been since Chico’s first posting... It’s been interesting to see how many have persisted with their tone exploration with the TL while others have abandoned it altogether.

Since purchasing the TLSE (about a year and a half ago) my own opinion of the TLSE has shifted several times between “wow, this thing is great!” to “I’m wasting too much time tweaking this thing -– I’m selling it and going back to a traditional rig with real stomp-boxes, etc...” At the moment, I’m going through the latter confused phase. Who knows how I’ll feel this time next year??!!
