Live - Lightning Crashes

A Live - Lightning Crashes sound...

The standard sound only has a phaser and some reverb. Use that part for the first verse. Then when the second verse starts, hit the "control" button to turn on the ADT (done with the Pitch Shifter) to open up the sound.

In the demo, the first half is plain, the second half has the ADT on.

If you find the double tracking to be too thick, just fine-tune the pitch shifter. You can either move the "Fine" knob closer to zero (12 o'clock), or the "Tracking" knob closer to zero (all the way down).

Likewise, if you want more double tracking, tune the "Fine" knob up a little bit. You probably don't want to go with more than about plus or minus 18 cents, after that, it just starts to sound out of tune. Or, you can (more effective to the sound) move the tracking up. Probably shouldn't go much higher than 80ms. At that point, the ear stops hearing it as two parts of one sound, and more as two separate sounds, which can muddy things up. You can play with these in conjunction to each other to find something that sounds nice to you. You could also just replace it with chorus, but I like to have the direct control over pitch and time.

Re:

Thanks. I'm not as familiar with Nothing Else Matters (haven't played it in a while), but I'll give it a shot.

Let me know how things go if you use them on stage.
