I don't have any Vai patches, but the ToneLab (not SE) comes with a patch called "VIABLE". I'm not sure what specific Vai sound you're looking to emulate, but you might check that patch out.
The default ToneLab patches (like VIABLE) come with the ToneLab Sound Editor. Patches are transferrable between both the TL and TLSE, so you can mix and match as you see fit.
Once you load the software, rather than opening the 'TonelabSE SoundEditor' icon, open up the 'Tonelab Preset Data' icon (in the same program folder) to launch the app. Go ahead and click through (and ignore) any MIDI warnings you may receive...you can still view all the patches in that app and export them to individual TLP files. This was how I took the aggregate Tonelab TLP file and split it up into the separate patches. I then picked out a spare range of banks (the default TLSE patches take up 32 spots...so I started loading in the TL patches in 9-1 thru 19-2 for starters. And yes, if you're counting, there are more unique default patches on the TL than TLSE.)
Bear in mind that the TL patches will have the same amp/cab on the A/B channel, as well as the TL ignores the expression pedal settings in patches. So when you load in a TL patch on the TLSE, you might want to keep this in mind and experiment with adding a different amp/cab on the B channel, as well assign something useful to do with the expression pedals.

Fri, 2006/06/30 - 11:16pm — AdminThe old site was something like bangroom.de, but It was shut down after a bad hacking problem a long time ago.
That was actually what prompted me to build this site.
