Rectifier Rythmn

BONES's picture

I have found the recto amp model on the Tonelab SE to be one of the most difficult to get a useful sound out of. The drive gets muddy very quickly and the buzz is a little overdone.

After several attempts to get a convincing Rectifier tone I ended up with this. The inspiration was Brad Gillis and Jeff Watsons rythmn sound from pretty much any of the Night Ranger albums, basically fairly classic Mesa Boogie Rectifiers.

I have turned down the drive on the amp to keep the tone quite clear (helps with chugging bottom strings), this also means the guitar timbre cuts through and is not overpowered by the amp. Subtle stereo chorus is the finishing touch.

Very nice

I found I had to reduce the gain and vr gain quite a bit before I could get a useful sound out of it. Then again, my strat is pretty hot, so I'm not supprised.

Once I cut things back a bit, the tone came out nice and clear. Very nice patch.

really? When I put my

really?

When I put my strat through it it was way too thin, best sound was with my PRS Tremonti Single Cut - actually haven't tried it with my active EMGs in the Les Paul yet...might push it over the edge!

Most rock/metal players seem to find the Tonelab a bit short on gain, I find it about right...you get too much! Vive la difference!

ok guys, especially new

ok guys, especially new comers, the site is experiencing some changes and some thing have been deleted (accidentally I'm sure) but all the post with .tlp files may not work, I suggest you go to my tonelabe page and look for a needle in a haystack. I don't have time right now myself to do this for you. there are tons of patches there and it really might not be to hard to find on that works for you.
