There are some great patches ready to go that emulate Queen, Boston, AC/DC, Van Halen, etc. Eric Meyer has a bunch of great distortion patches he uploaded here:

I have found that I prefer
Mon, 2006/03/13 - 2:04pm — jagstang76I have found that I prefer to take each amp that is being modeled and create my own presets for each. Each preset attempts to match a clean and dirty version of the amp. The cool thing about having a real tube in the TLSE is it responds just like the original amps do. I have a Squire Strat with EMGs and a mid-boost, and I can simply select a particular amp/preset that will give me the character of sound I want and then adjust volume and mid-boost on my guitar to clean/dirty the sound. It also responds to how soft or hard I attack the strings. As far as distortion goes, I have tried to use none of the distortion effects. Rather I want to use the distortion character of the amp and build from there. If I feel I need some extra drive or something, I can use one of the distortions. It takes some time to create each preset and tweak it to your liking, but it provides a way for you to take advantage of the TLSE's flexibility and create sounds that work for many applications.

I started of with Diary, but found "Crunch" and "UCLA". Then I customized it based upon which guitar I was using, then saved it accordingly. The Marshall amps are very good, along with the Fender, and throw in some of the distortion pedals, and have fun!
