Sorry Boys

Got my Mesa fixed with a new 2x12 cab, and I'm lovin every minute of it. I did a side-by-side with my TL, and my heart is falling away from it sad I'm still using the TL's OD pedals (the Tube OD actually sounds really good on my Mesa) and tuner until I have enough money for a tube screamer and some other effects. I'll still hang around and donate some tones. It's still my go-to rig when it's 12:30 and I have an itching to play some guit!

We all move on...some take

We all move on...some take longer than others.

The tone path is is a personal willingness to not settle for something less than the mojo that rocks your soul.

I will say that your tweak skills (possibly learned or sharpened) from your TL experience will surely be the key to unlock all the magic the Mesa has to offer.

I'm happy to know you've found your tone mojo.

If the effects worked better

If the effects worked better through a real amp, I'd probably still take the TL with me everywhere I go. I can't dial in any usable delay with the TL, and hardly any reverb.

That's like trying to mix

That's like trying to mix red, blue and green paint and then unmix them. It's very hard to compensate for the coloring of things.

Good to see you found

Good to see you found something that you can work with to get the sound you're looking for. It makes all the difference. I used to own these lovely old ART Attack amps, but the preamps were only good if you used them on their own. After one Hendrix Experience pedal and a PODxt, I was convinced the ART amps were the weakest link. Then I bought an Atomic Reactor and found the PODxt was really the weakest link.

Now I use a fantastic Traynor Custom Special amp that allows me to go direct to the power section bypassing the preamp. Direct Injecting the TLSE into the tube power and that lovely Vintage 30 does it for me every time.

Thats really the whole thing for me, versatility. And also the fact that I can get these sounds at virtually any volume. At most places I play these days, I cant get "tube amp" loud.

I also love my cranked marshall and would be the first to admit, that is a unique and wonderful thing. But I really do get equally pleasing sounds from the TLLe even if those sounds are not exactly the same as what my marshall does. I have found that in order to start comparisons you have to compare at equal volumes. Taking this into consideration, I can get really close. As I turn the volume on the TLLe (or any tube amp) the sound changes. The versatility of the TLLe allows me to compensate for these changes, and even though Ive altered from the original tone match, I still have very usefull tones at the volumes that suit my needs.

When I play with the clean

When I play with the clean only and just use the different cabs i get the exact same tube sound if I would just play my clean channel only on my amp, plus it can sound alot better then the stock tube sound also. I just played a few amps at G. Center over the weekend. Peavy joe Satch 212, sounded pretty nice and a messa 50 watt 212 and a 5150's and messa's truth is mine's sounds pretty dam good or better then these amps for a fraction of there price! And you have No pedals to work with so you have to spend more money also! But with a 600 dollar Carvin and a tonelabe you can do a pretty lot with it! I think I would miss the tonlab if it was gone. A half stack 5150III plus pedals and that would be like 3,300 yeah cool if you have the money! Just my 2 cents.
