Hey everyone
I'm new to the forum so I'm sorry if this question has been asked before. Just wanted to know whether it was possible to connect my Tonelab LE to an external speaker cab without an amp? It has an 8 Ohm Celestion V30 speaker.
Thanks

No, because you have no
Sat, 2008/08/02 - 3:59am — ft_hummerNo, because you have no power amp driving the speaker. The tonelab works like a preamp. the power amp is what amplifies the preamp signal, causing the speaker to vibrate, creating sound.
First - welcome to this

Secondly - sorry, no that wont work. The ToneLab's outputs are all Line/Headphone level - that means just a few Volts, expecting some 1000s Ohms resistance on the output (not just 4 - 16 Ohms like a speaker has). So you will need some kind of "power amp" which amplifies the ToneLabs output signal to be strong enough for moving your speaker.

Thanks heaps for the prompt
Sat, 2008/08/02 - 4:08am — takamineThanks heaps for the prompt replies. Really appreciate it. Guess I'll have to wait till I get the amp for my cab.
Thanks again!
That was one of the features
