Dear 'Fingers' Andy
Would you be willing to post up any of your Tonelab patches that you use for replicating the Gilmour sounds when doing your Pink Floyd covers?
Thanks

Hi Chris i'd be happy to,
Mon, 2008/07/14 - 9:27am — fingersHi Chris i'd be happy to, although I would say that many of them are work in progress.
I use a Digitech studio quad for many of the big reverbs and so you may get a slightly false impression of the final sound.
If you let me know any particular tracks you want the sound for maybe I can help.
I am arranging a day in a rehearsal studio very soon to edit the sounds at gigging volume, as i have found that setting them up at 'bedroom' volume doesn't quite give me what I want.
Will keep in touch though and let you know how it's going.
Andy
Thanks Andy, I am amused to
Thu, 2008/07/17 - 5:52am — MBWThanks Andy,
I am amused to hear that you describe them as "a work in progress", as I thought of asking you for your patches about a year ago. This was when I first saw a post of yours and saw from your home website that you were in a PFloyd cover band.
I foolishly assumed that as a jobbing musician you would have got all your sounds sussed and perfected to your satsisfaction.
I suppose now this means we ALL of us are never satisfied with our sounds. (I am constantly tweaking with my patches also :-) ...er ...except perhaps for Hank Marvin who found his 'sound' and then stuck with it without amendment for decades. Hank, I salute you.
Anyway, as to which patches
...I don't know where to start.
Well...If you don't want to share your FULL arsenal (hint, hint) then I would be interested in hearing whatever you have got that are most pleased with/proud of.
Or if that is too hard to answer then what you have got for:
1. the rhythym part of "Us and them".
2. the bottle neck part in "the great gig in the sky"
3.and the guitar solo in 'Comfortably numb' (of course;-)
Thanks :-D
Chris (MBW)
P.S. Will you and your band be playing at the Syd Barret festival/happening in Cambridge in the Autumn?

Mon, 2008/07/21 - 6:49am — MBWThanks Sascha. Cool site. Nice one.
I agree with all of you
Mon, 2008/07/21 - 12:58pm — fingersI agree with all of you there is only one man on the planet who plays and sounds like Dave Gilmour, and that is the man himself.
Sounds like I don't want to give anything away, but I can assure you that is not the case, perhaps i want them to be more authentis before i do.
As I explained in an earlier post, I use a Digitech Studio Quad for some of the effects, but as i learn more about the capabilities of the TLSE I hope to use it less.
As soon as i have spent the day in the studio tweaking the sounds, i will share them with you.
As far as I am aware we are not at the Syd Barrett festival, but would love to be.
Regards
Andy
