How do I rename patches in the TL editor?

ambient's picture

I've just managed to hook up my tlse to my computer so I'm just trying to figure the editor out.
How can I change the name of patched?
Also is there anyway I can just load a all new set of patches from the computer to the TL without having to update them 1 by 1?
Thanks guys...

You can change the name by

You can change the name by clicking on the current name with your mouse...then type in the desired name. Click write current program to make the change permanent.

I think you can either "open" the desired file or "import." I've only exported tones for backup (or to share) so I'm a little ignorant on this. I think if you open the file, a new tab is created in the window on the right. You should be able to "click-shift-click" to select the presets in list order, copy, and then paste them into the "Tonelab SE" tab. I hope that helps.

I'm pretty sure I tried to

I'm pretty sure I tried to click on the name then type, but it wouldn't let me edit the patch name in the list..I'll give it another go when I get home as I didn't really spend that much time trying.

Thanks for your help Will.

on the LE editor you have to

on the LE editor you have to change it in the window that looks like the amp with all the knobs

yes.. right above the "AMP"

yes.. right above the "AMP" in the GRAPHIC editor (the blue editing window) it shows the "current name" of the patch, It can only be 8 characters long (suggest letters and numbers only) if you change the name OR the patch in any way you need to save it by "UPDATING" the patch in the other window near the bottom where the button says "update program..."
if this is not "grayed out" (won't let you chose it) and this is your first time setting up the editor (or installing it) with or without midi connection you may have to go to the MIDI tab and select midi in/out settings, on mine right now I just re-installed the editor and had to change the MIDI OUT to "Microsoft GS wavetable SW" to get the editor to work and save a patch.

I think even the most well

I think even the most well known geniuses have had there "WELL DUHHHH !!!" moments, its just that when we try something that seems like the most logical thing to do and it fails we over look the second most logical thing.

Well yes I'll hide behind that explanation quite happily.
