Hacked!?!?!!

Admin's picture

Well, I guess we got hacked...

Looks like the attacker didn't do any actual damage though, just changed a single page which, in our case broke the entire site. It was easy to fix, but irritating none the less...

Sorry, guys and gals.

He's hacked over, I think, 200,000 websites. I did some research on him. He's the biggest hacker on the net, he rarely does any damage, but he sure is annoying. He's hacked government webpages of Greece, and Italy and some other countries to preach religious propaganda.

I freaked out at first, but when I googled the hacker, I found the same info you did.

Well after clearing my temp files, cookies and history IE7 is working right, SO if you use IE7 and this is happening you will need to clear that out probably. Im also wondering if it is the same person that kept posting those other non-sense post with links to who knows where?. anyway good to be back but please sign up on the google site as well in case something happens we can all betch about it there and KEEP in contact.

Back on!!! So rockin!!! Glad it was an "easy" fix.
I used ForceField today just in case his page was still here. Another site was saying it looked like more than just the image was loading when the turk used a "safe" system.

FWIW;
I use Firefox as my search engine with my PC (home) and Mac
(church).
They have a new "alert" star that shows up, to tell you if the site is secure.
I stayed away from tonelab.net ( especially with my PC)
until the Firefox warning went away.

I just had to clear my browser cache and Temporary Internet Files for IE then it worked again, I did delete my links as well and re-bookmarked them.
I have notice quite a bit of stuff has been lost or missing here and I will as soon as I get a J.O.B. start posting all the tlse patches and other related files I can find to the google site for back-up and downtime purposes.
you might want to save the link at least as Kaal has.

Steve...
Clear your cache's and temp files and maybe even your history, delete all the links and make new ones.
if it still comes up maybe he hacked your PC too, so then you might do a virus scan.

Just this morning I was

Just this morning I was comparing Google to the Borg.

"We are Google. You will be assimilated. Your technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile."

Don't get me wrong. I use Google for everything. Including hosting all my personal, and professional email with "Google Apps for Your Domain." And I went to a huge Google developer conference a couple of weeks ago to figure out how to do further integrations between my work website and Google.

I'm just saying... they remind me of the Borg... Though, one of Google's mottoes is "Don't be evil".

mself61's picture

I some how figure that

I some how figure that Google will follow suit with the housing market and take a big dump. I don't know why but it just seems "to good to be true" the amount of income or profit they have made. but then to the "owners" it will be no big deal if it crashed. they already have enough to build their own space colonies and travel to distant planets, they could be greater than any nasa space plan even. someone slap me out of this trance !!!

Heh, I think Google is one

Heh, I think Google is one of the only big corporations that isn't pure evil in this country... Voted best place to work in America is something to be proud of. None of their services cost me anything, and I've been happy using them to search the web, do standard to metric conversions with their calculator, or connect to a pizza place when I'm on the road and I don't have their number. Google FTW.

well they know he's not going to win and mccain probably paid them <|8O) , another good thing they have if StarOffice 8 for free, I already had ver.7, I just don't see how there going to track me down when they want to put chips in our fourhand.

These are actually all

These are actually all reasons why I am a bit suspicious. As we say:

Umsonst ist nur der Tod – und der kostet´s Leben ("nothing in life is for free, except death - and even death will cost - your life")

I am sure they do everything on purpose - google is not at all stupid. I dont believe that they are evil, but I am not sure whether I particularly like what they are doing (or can do) with the massive amounts of data they collect.

It's a strange world.

ahhh, kaal is the wise one

ahhh, kaal is the wise one for sure. My Polish doctor always told me "Can you count, then count on yourself".

"I think I need to polish up my English"
an English person returns:
"I believe your English is Polish enough".

and to think some crazy a$$ is gonna sit up late night analyzing all the data they've collected <(8/~~~
oh wait.. they'll just get a PC to do it.

but what about all that phony data ?
