Hey guys,
I have been poking around both on the internet and with any gear available to mee. I've been researching boutique amps and pedals, particularly overdrives, distortions and fuzz. And also reading interviews and gear lists from musician's and amp makers to try to glean from their expertise.
I've been trying out pricey boutique pedals, and a wide variety of tube amps= from fender blues JR all the way to Mesa Blue Angel dual Recs.
Here's what hit me today: I've been trying to tweak patches on my tonelab to match certain artists- and then i'm unsatisfied with the usability of these patches on stage, (playing rock music) but I just can't go buying tons of pedals and amps when deep down I know the tonelab has what it takes.
So I'm done making patches of "artists" sounds. Now I am making Patches that just emulate what I would do if I had a marshall stack behind me.... or a Soldano on a marshall cab... or a few Vox amps...
It's a really simple change in methodology, but I'm seeing immediate results as far as how "real" the sound feels and how much more inspired I feel to play my instrument at 120% because the Patches I'm using really feel good.
sorry this is really long winded, but I don't know how to explain it very concisely yet. Anyways, here's one of a few patches I'm going to upload. These are catered to the venue where I am using the Tonelab, so if you feel like playing with them please go right ahead and turn those knobs to get the best for you!
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to do the same thing, I would create a lot patches the resemble artisit that I would try to simulate but the patch would only be for that artist. I have also moved the idea of creating patches with effects that I would use on stage and tweak them to liking. The flexibility is incredible and it feels like Im FREE to play just as if I have 10 pedals in front of me.
Lovin your Marshall patch, great JOB!!!
Thanks, it's weird- but

it's weird- but the simplicity of it actually is really versatile to use. I have no problem moving to the sound I need really quickly because I'm a kinesthetic person- so if I can think of it all as a collection of amps it's really easy to use.
I do think I will continue working on some artist based patches for particular songs. I'm just loving the flexibility that the tonelab has now that I'm starting to get more comfortable with it.
Glad you like the patch!!!! thanks for your feedback!
