All guitars are straight from the TLSE to Cubase SX3 (I upgraded from LE).
84% of tone is in your hands, the TLSE takes the rest of the credit.

Monte, Crossroads's drums

Crossroads's drums are real. Six drum mics mixed down to a stereo track (My USB interface can only do 2 tracks at a time). Not the ideal way to do drums. My live mixing experience paid off. I wanted to have my live drummer on the project.
Tonal, mixing, and timing concerns prompted me to purchase EZDrummer (used on Tryn' 2 Get Next 2 U). I did the programing (I have been programing drums for a while). I am happy with the EZDrummer. I think my drummers pisst.
Nothing after the TLSE. The compression you may hear is at the mastering stage.
Sonar is what I used in the 80's. I can't compare since I'm sure today's version is good. Cubase sits very well after the learning curve. There is still so much to learn.

As you mentioned earlier in this thread it's all down to your fingers to get the right tone.
For me the TonelabSE is just an easy way to fix a real good recording without using hours of adjusting mike's and stuff, and then it gives me a bunch of effects to play with.
I discovered that my playing exactly sound the same way no matter what patch i use, or if I play direct into my amp
I admire your guitar playing man, it's just a cool and understandable language you get out of it, patch or not I'm a fan !
