Recording with the TLSE

ChicoBluez's picture

I bought a Tascam 144 interface with Cubase LE included. Here's my leaning curve tune so far. If it does not come up as an attachment, just visit the myspace link and cue up Crossroads.

Chico, Sounds good! Not sure

Chico,

Sounds good! Not sure why I can't seem to find the tone going straight into the Tascam FW1082 with Sonar 7.

Hey, I was just logging on to get your opinion of a gold face Tokai Love Rocks on E-bay and somebody had already snagged it. I hope it was you! It was a good deal and I am not sure why I did not get it last night for the buy it now price of $499. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

if your having problems

if your having problems getting the tone straight into the board it's probably because your used to room sounds. My software is logic studio/Main Stage. I use a little EQ to roll off some highs and boost mids, i also use a plugin called space designer (fancy reverb) that gives me the sound of playing in a room. I hit some note the night before last and had to take of my headphones to make sure i wasn't coming out of my speakers it sounded so realistic. I also always use 24bit 96khz on my interface (firepod)

TLSE on all the guitars.

TLSE on all the guitars. The bass through a Nathan East Yamaha pre-amp. Nothing live...all tracked. Drums from an late 80's drum machine that's still working. I plan on getting EZ Drummer very soon and upgrading the Cubse LE to Cubase Studio 4. Vocals and solo gits are scratch tracks to be re-recorded. I will also add some female back up singers for a more soulful approach.

The TLSE shines live and in the recording world. I'm using my Marshall patch direct to th interface. Hours of work and having fun mixing.

Thanks for the nice comments,

Chico,

Nice job - I like your voice. Guitars are great, but you I think the guitar solo could come up in the mix (crank it!). Keep rockin....

Gosh! How many times can

Gosh! How many times can you listen to the same song over and over? I just got my keyboardist to do some very fine "Jimmy Johnson" stlye piano on the tune. My DAW learning curve is beginning to flatten out somewhat. I've cleaned up some drum timming issues and I will redo the git solo and vocal.

I guess you can say I'm working on my next CD release. And what about the TLSE? Shinning like no other!
