TLLE - replacing tube

sponge's picture

While I had the back off my TLLE the other day I thought I'd try and work out how to change the tube. Blimey, they don't 'arf want you to keep the old tube! Seems you have to unscrew an awful lot of stuff to get to it, including one screw that sits handily underneath the lip of the frame so you can't quite get the screwdriver in.

Anybody tried this with the LE yet? Is there an easier way in? What did you replace it with and did you notice much difference?

probably because they will

probably because they will make money off of units that are out of warranty, they may have learned from the SE tweakers doing this and realized they made it too easy for us SE users, if they make it more difficult there is more chance of one screwing up there unit in some way, then it is out of warranty and they make repair money off them.
so I suggest if there are any brave enough to do an LE tube change that they take good photos and video of the process to show others how you did it.
one more question here is, Is there a tube calibration test sequence known for the LE as there is with the SE ?
