Bought some Samson Rubicon R8A studio monitors. I liked them better in the store than I do in my studio. I A/B'd them with some M-Audio BX5's which is what I currently own and the Rubicons were clearly superior in the store but not so in the studio. I think the BX5's might color the sound a tad and maybe I am used to it now and need to re-adjust to the Rubicons, but frankly I am thinking about returning them. Any words o' wisdom great ones?
I ordered an Avatar Vintage 2x12 cab with split back. I was hoping it would get here for the weekend so I could tinker but of course the DHL tracking says it is coming on MONDAY.

Yes, I got the Avatar loaded with Celestion G12H, a little departure from the Vintage 30s. I like the G12Hs for the blusey sound. I have two Celestion Vintage 30s that I was going to put in an empty cab and the salesman talke me into buying it loaded for not much more than empty. I may experiment with swapping in one Vintage 30. I have it set up for mono for the Spider Valve.
I took back the Rubicon's and got a sub for my M-Audio BX5s and I am pretty happy with that route.
