LE patches

mw113's picture

Hey guys,

This site seems to have mainly SE patches. Will they work over on an LE?

Did some searching but I couldn't find a straight answer.

Thanks!

The settings work... The file extension for the SE is .TLP and the file extension for the LE is .TLLP You can't just change the extension and import the file though. The code in the file itself locks it to the SE and the LE won't recognize it.

Soooo... Download the Sound Editor for the SE and install it. The SE Editor will not interface with your Tonelab LE so don't worry about midi error messages or any changes you think it might make. Launch both Editors (I put mine side by side on a 22" monitor) I open the .TLP (SE file) in the SE Editor and simply copy the settings into my LE Editor and save 'em.

It isn't terribly convenient or quick. It would be nice if the LE recognized .TLP's or if some one wrote a converter to make .TLLP's from .TLP's.

OR! Someone could sit down on a rainy/snowy day and shoot through the list and convert all of these for the community!

I think Monte (or maybe someone else) has already done it one way - i.e. the LE patches to SE. I haven't seen it go the other way yet.

Is there an editor for the LE? Yes there is:

For Windows: http://www.voxamps.co.uk/downloads/software/ToneLabLEWin1_01.zip
For MAC: http://www.voxamps.co.uk/downloads/software/ToneLabLEMAC1_0.zip

You need to use this for controlling the TLLE, and for loading patches to/from the TLLE, and to open "*.tllp" Files. It can NOT open "*.tlp" files.

You can use the TLSE Soundeditor to LOOK at patches made for the TLSE (*.tlp files). You do NOT need to have a TLSE in order to do that.

TLSE patches are named "*.tlp", TLLE patches are named "*.tllp". There is (currently) no automatic conversion - so if you want to have a TLSE patch on the TLLE, you have to look at the patch in theTLSE Soundeditor, manually copy the patch settings to the TLLE Soundeditor, and push it out to the TLLE from there (or directly enter the values in the TLLE odf course).

A tonelab.net member from Europe (not me) is working on a TLSE<->TLLE patch conversion tool, so there might be something available at some point in time. I hope he finds the time needed to complete what he started...
