Here is potentally my last guitar of the year (unless my wife has something in mind for Christmas day, not). Fender 50's Player's Strat in shoreline gold. It was just hanging on the rack at Sam Ash begging me to take it home. She is pre-owned. Not sure why anyone would have given her up. Bought her during the VIP sale and paid $400 for essentially an $800 player. Her demeanor is very sweet until you lay into her and then she barks nicely. Sounds really sweet in the blues setting on the Spider Valve. I will need to set up a whole new group of patches in the TLSE for her.

New guitar usually means new patches.. I don't know how Chico gets his to work on ALL of his guitars even though he's tweaked them for ages.. maybe he could pass his on to the group and see what we are missing cheesey grin
every guitar I have has different pu's and all sound different in its own way.
ESP = EMG 81/85
I really haven't investigated the others but most are stock still
EPI LP Standard = Alnico Classic humbucking pickups (many different Humbuckers, which are best or is it tonal difference ?) you know alnico, Ceramic, 57 humbuckers, 490R alnico, Seymour Duncan SH-13 Dimebucker, Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB Humbucker, Seymour Duncan SH-6 Distortion Humbucker, hum hum hum....
to many to list how does one pick an appropriate one when you cannot quickly swap out to list to how each sound ? this is what sells a guitar mostly when you plug it in at the store through what ever happens to be "convenient" instead of your own rig.
then there is the same thing with single coils pu's as well, not one of my guitars have their original single coil pu's except for the Washburn that only has one in between 2 hummers.
anyway how does it play through the G9 Larry ?

Install the Eric Clapton booster and forget the re-tweak.

I guess it comes down to your approach to tweaking. I tweak for amps and not to make up what for guitars lack. My guitars sound like they are supposed to...at least to me.
