Ric/Vox lovers

I hadn't noticed any particular affinity among all the guitar players here for Rickenbackers. I have used my '68 345S with lots of Vox setups over the years and that combo is stil a major classic. Are there any other Ric users in this group?

That would be me - a 1967 12 string 330 (see picture here http://www.tonelab.net/node/1362) and a 1970's something 360. I've also got a couple of '60's Vox amps. I'm a Ric/Vox tragic!

Its one of my favorites as well.
I had to thin out the guitar herd a while ago.
But if I was going to add another, the 12 string would be my choice!

Does the ring/chime of the Ric seem as true on the TLSE as an AC30 or other Vox amp? I have worked a lot to get it accurate. Also I am using a nice 12 string simulation on the TLSE that let my 6 become a pseudo 12 in the same song. Not perfect, of course, but good for effect when needed. Any tips to pass along for this classic pairing?

I went amp shopping a few

I went amp shopping a few months ago in downtown Portland, Oregon. I got to play on a Vox and then along side some boutique tube amps. Dr. Z and Victoria, I think.
All Vox amps have a really unique tone.
Went home and played my Tonelab SE.
The Tonelab SE/LE hits it right on the head. Its pretty close, IMHO.

I'd have to agree with that.

I'd have to agree with that. When pushing out to an amp instead of direct, do you have any preferences for a tranparent setup that lets the TLSE sound get through unchanged?

Has anyone tried the little Pathfinder combo amp with the TSLE?

I did use the 10W Pathfinder

I did use the 10W Pathfinder before I could afford an Atomic.

Well, the Pathfinder is not what you really want to use with a TLSE. It's kind of OK for practicing, but the TLSE is simply too good for it - the Pathfinder kills too much of the TLSE sound details in my opinion. I actually preferred headphones versus the Pathfinder at that time.

Also, the Pathfinder will not be sufficient for rehearsals - unless your drummer does tambourine and woodblock only... you can't go far beyond bedroom volume without (unwanted) distortion from the Pathfinder.

Now, I prefer the Atomic versus headphones...
