The demos on the VOX site are pretty nice... but has anyone here checked them out yet? I am thinking of some stocking stuffers.

Its a nice idea, glad they kept the "Vox" look with it.
I own one of those mini Marshall Stacks that run off a 9 volt battery.

Wed, 2007/12/12 - 12:03pm — kvcI've had the AC30 version of the Amplug for several weeks now and have a mixed reaction to it. I love the concept, and the price. Sound quality is a mixed blessing - I can get a good clean sound, and another usable variation that is clean on the edge of breakup, but that's it. Not owning an actual AC30, I can comment on how accurate these sounds are. The tone and volume controls are both unacceptably noisy above the #4 setting, and I find I do all my adjustments between the 4 and 6 settings on the gain control.
The biggest drawback in my view is the design. For something clearly intended as a headphone amp to be played sitting down, the adjustment dials are too easy to nudge out of position, and too hard to read the settings from the seated position (I have to lift the guitar up to my eyes, or just adjust by feel and sound). The knobs get constantly bumped out of position, so I have remedied that with duct tape over the tone and volume controls. I use this in a Rick 650C, which has the jack on the outer edge of the lower bout. I am not sure how this device would work on a guitar with an angled jack on the front, like a Strat.
Overall - good concept and decent sound for the money, but I would rather pay another $20 for a much-better engineered product.
KVC, thanks for the input, I
