When I began on this path in 2002, I was looking for a modeling amp that could I could get the range of tones I wanted. One of the biggest issues was that slightly rude breaking up is hard for a modeler to do sound.
I narrowed it down to 2 amps; a Vox Valvetronix ad60vt and a Fender CyberDeluxe.
I went with the Fender because A)It had the nice double expression pedal floorboard and not a cheesy plastic looking miniboard B) I found one at dealer cost from a store going out of business. I liked the Vox a little better (and was not a fan of the fender name) but the floorboard was the big deal (which the only one I ever bought was never shipped to me from the eBay seller I paid for it). That, and I could use any MIDI board with it (of which I had an old Control 8 from digitech).
So I'm happy for about the next 4 years playing the Fender until I met a "gotta have the best and the best is tubes" player who told me my amp sounded like a toy with the delay on. I had realized I wasn't getting the total amp sound I wanted, and that it made my newly acquired strat sound terrible even when my other set up (as total Visual Sound pedal board with Morley Vol & Bad Horsie) was phenomenal. So then I try using the VS pedal setup through the Fender only to find the overdrives act more like an EQ and I could not get anymore sustain or amp distortion no matter what I tried.
I sell it and get a Vetta (complete with FBV longboard), which I am very content with
until I realize "this is just too big". Then I go the Atomic amp with PODxt route which reminds me a lot of the Cyber Deluxe (my strat sounding, once again, terrible). I get a ToneLab only to have multiple attempts that do not fix it (yet).
So now I have found a Valvetronix at a ridiculously low price and am in the process of selling the Atomic. I own a VC-12 that I had in hopes of the ToneLab being in working condition by now and am excited that it will work just fine with the amp that will be home with me shortly.

You should have no problem selling the Atomic.
Hope your gear works for you!
The quest for tone never ends!!!
Oh yeah. The Atomic went out
Thu, 2007/09/27 - 3:16pm — firebrandOh yeah. The Atomic went out the door Wednesday. The only downer was I found an AD120VTX with a VC12 for $400 (I could not believe it either) and I had to wait for the $$$ to arrive. I call first thing the next day and it was gone
So, I have found an AD60VT for $300 about 2 hours away... It will work. There's a guy in town trying to sell his for $700 with a VC4, and it sound nice, but not $700 nice.
