I would be more worried about the power supply cord being worn out, before the tube goes.
Its only a small part of the tone, not like normal guitar amps.
I am betting it will last for years.
I wouldn't worry about it.
I think Vox made it harder to replace the valve so the repair shops can make some money.

Mon, 2007/09/24 - 1:22pm — Will CI agree with Steve. I think there's such a low current going through the tube that you wont need to worry about it. I took my Mesa to a repair shop, and the tech told me that preamp tubes like AX-7s and such don't really wear out, it's the power tubes that need frequent replacement depending on how hard you push and use your gear. I'm not speaking from experience so someone correct me if I'm wrong here.
