At last, my Tele project is complete and playable! The GFS mini-humbuckers sound great! This guitar ROCKS! I can't wait to play it with the band!

Now, if only I could play guitar as well as I can build stuff! I'll see what I can do about the soundclips. Don't know if I can make it happen on my 7 year old iMac. I can't even figure out how to change my avitar pic!

Thanks for all the great reviews! Now this guit just needs a name. Any suggestions? The drummer in my band calls it "Tigger."

Does the GFS mini humbuckers

Does the GFS mini humbuckers give more of a "rock" sound vs. the traditional single coil Tele "twang"
How dis she sound with your band?

Sweet guitar! I've been building one myself, hanging out over at telecaster.com letting those guys walk me through it. Honestly...it's without a doubt the finest guitar I've ever had in my hands... Steve, I added a photo of

Steve, I added a photo of the backside at your request. You can see the "relief" I had to give the neck plate to accommodate the extra body thickness (2 1/8") and the resulting finish damage when I tightened the neck screws. Have I mentioned how frustrating lacquer is to work with?

Yes the mini-humbuckers have more rock sound to them than stock tele pickups. They have more clarity than full size hums, but aren't "thin" sounding like a single coil. They probably sound most like a hot wound P-90 without the hum. I did wire in a coil split with a push/pull pot so it can twang if necessary.

Aaron; Very nice finishing

Aaron;
Very nice finishing job on the back of the Tele body.
The variety of woods is cool to see.
Coil split is a good idea as well.
I put a Seymour Duncan LIl 59 in my Tele, but I'm still able to get a 'twang' by switching to the bridge/middle P/U.
Have you posted it at the TDRI website?
