U2 - Still Havent Found - With Shimmer clip

riffboy76's picture

Hey guys,

I came up with a patch for U2's Still havent found what i'm looking for. I added some shimmer effect with a Line 6 Verbzilla within the effects loop. Despite the playing, i'd love some feedback on the patch.

Hey guys yes it was all TLSE

Hey guys yes it was all TLSE with the exception of the shimmer you hear in the background. I turned on the Verbzilla that i have within the effects loop. I'll post the patch, however i have a question....why when i use the Tonelab SoundEditor can i not select the Mod Delay within the Mod section? I see chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo, and rotary but no mod delay? I use this one alot in most of my patches? I believe its a sim of the Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man.

very nice sound. You've also

very nice sound. You've also either got the right plectrum or turned your normal one around to use the rough "grip" side (like on Jim Dunlop Nylon plecs) - essential for getting a good Edge delay tone. Nice one !

the Mod Delay is under the DELAY not the MODULATION, can see why one may get confused.

Alan,

Great ears man. Yes i use the pick sideways, i'm very impressed your the very first person to recognize that. I use herdim picks and they have little bumps on the end that really adds a nice chime to the delays.

Mself61,

There is also a delay within the mod section of the Tonelab. The mod delay your referring to under the delay menu is the Korg SDD3000 sim. I'm referring to the Memory Man sim which is listed as Mod Delay under the mod menu of the Tonelab. I do use both for patches such as "Bad" U2.
Am I crazy or on the editor is there no option for Mod Delay in the Mod section? Cause there is one listed on my Tonelab.

Yeah for some reason it

Yeah for some reason it doesnt show on my Tonelab Editor. Strange. I'm almost 100% sure the sim is a modelled after the Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man. In the description of the Mod Dly, it describes the original having vibrato and chorus. Also the settings are the same as on the Memory Man, all delay times are 0-10 with no ms settings.
Anyways i manually wrote the patch down, here it is:

Comp sens: 2.6 level: 7.0 attack: 8.4

AC30TB gain: 2.3 VR: 6.4 treb: 8.7 mid: 5.0 bass: 2.1 vol: 8.3

AC30 Cab “ “ “ “ “ “

Mod Dly speed: 0.36 depth: 4.5 fbk: 4.9 time: 4.9 mode: 1 mix: 8.9
(mod sect)

Plate1 time: 4.5 lo: 0 hi: 1.7 reverb pre dly: 30 mix: 2.9

Thanks for writing down the settings. I'm new to the TLSE community and haven't had the time to set up the editor yet (baby, work, house etc...) This sounded great with my PRS SE24 on the third rotary setting and the sweet switch doooowwwwn.
