SoCalSteve's picture

Transferred the Van Halen eruption patch from SE format to LE format. Found in the Dirty/Rock forum on tonelab.net.

I've also attached a screenshot of the settings.

Took the Eruption patch as uploaded by someone else for SE, loaded it into the SE SoundEditor, then tweaked the settings in the LE SoundEditor by hand. I don't know where the original Eruption patch came from before this forum, but it sounds good!

I just added a screenshot of the LE settings.

Hi Paolo, I had a ToneLab

Hi Paolo,

I had a ToneLab desktop before I got the LE (just a few days ago). I couldn't really tell you the quality between the SE and LE, and from the desktop to the LE I have NOT done an A/B comparison. However, from what I've used of the LE so far, I'm very happy with the sound. I went to NAMM in January and heard the LE there and was sufficiently impressed to wait 3 months until they finally shipped. The LE is designed as the successor to both the desktop and SE versions. In my case I was very, very happy with the tone and the effects loop and ability to bypass finally got my "studio" wired the way I like it.

few more questions Steve...

few more questions Steve... is there a download site for the LE sound editor?.
and does pedal work for all effects or just selected "pedal" and a volume as well ?

Hi Self, The download for

Hi Self,

The download for the LE editor is on the same download page as the SE editor on the Vox site - just go to "downloads" from any tonelab page. The pedal seems to have the option of controlling a lot of effects, not just volume, but one at a time, I *think*.

The manual for the LE is also on the Vox site.

Steve, I Had to change the

Steve, I Had to change the .tlp file extension to .tllp to get it to load in the LE editior. Don't have time now to try it out but will give it a go this weekend. Thanks.

http://www.voxamps.co.uk/support/software.asp#Tonelab

the above URL lists SE and LE Sound editors for download. I think there was a request for a download link. If someone already posted it and I missed it, sorry. blushing

Edit: I noticed on the download page it seems to suggest that the Windows version of the LE editor is only for Windows XP and Vista. I'm using it on Windows 2000 SP-4 with no problems so far (including the MIDI hookup to the LE itself.)

Tank you for your comments.

smile Tank you for your comments. Probably i go to buy an LE next week. I like the idea to have a more compact and light pedalboard. I use the tonelab SE direct to the mixer of my group and IMHO is a fantastic solution. Perfect for my needs. Only compliant....... is heavy e too big. At the next...... by
